American Express is replacing its Cruise Privileges Program with the American Express Cruise & Yacht Collection, and the new collection goes live on October 22, 2026. If you book sailings with a Platinum card, this is the program that sets your onboard credit and the points you earn on the booking.

What the Collection Includes

Here's what cardmembers get:

  • Onboard credit: $100 to $300 per room or suite, plus a special amenity, on eligible sailings of five nights or more with participating cruise lines and yacht brands.
  • Membership Rewards: 2X points on eligible cruise bookings.
  • Trip planning: personalized planning through AmexTravel.com with no booking fees.
  • Exclusive offers: access to AmexTravel.com offers from participating partners.
  • Stacking: where eligible, Collection benefits can combine with cruise-line offers and the loyalty recognition you already hold with the line.

You can pay for a sailing with cash or with points.

Launch Partners

The yacht brands named at launch include The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Orient Express Sailing Yachts and Aman at Sea, and the cruise lines include Virgin Voyages and Explora Journeys. Participating lines can change, so check that your line is on the list before you book.

Which Cards Qualify

The Collection is open to the Platinum Card from American Express, The Business Platinum Card from American Express and the Centurion Card. Our Amex Platinum review and Amex Business Platinum review cover what each card costs and what else it includes. The primary cardholder has to be one of the named passengers on the booking.

What to Do Before You Book

If you're planning a sailing, wait for the Collection page on October 22 and check three things before you pay through Amex Travel: that the line participates, that the sailing is five nights or more, and how much onboard credit your sailing carries within the $100 to $300 range.
