Allegiant announced nine new nonstop routes to Florida on August 17, 2026, timed for spring break 2027. Introductory fares start at $49 one way, and tickets are on sale now.

Boston and Providence get three new routes each, which makes this a New England expansion more than a national one.

The Nine Routes

One is year-round, one is seasonal, and seven are what Allegiant calls hyper-seasonal, meaning they run only through the spring break window:

  • Cincinnati to Orlando, from February 12, 2027, year-round, from $49
  • Grand Forks to Sanford, from February 10, 2027, seasonal through April 17, from $69
  • Boston to Sanford, from February 13, 2027
  • Boston to Punta Gorda, from February 13, 2027
  • Boston to St. Pete-Clearwater, from February 13, 2027
  • Providence to Fort Lauderdale, from February 13, 2027
  • Providence to Sanford, from February 13, 2027
  • Providence to Sarasota, from February 13, 2027
  • Portsmouth to Fort Lauderdale, from February 20, 2027

The seven hyper-seasonal routes operate through late April into early May 2027, then stop.

Six distinct Florida airports are involved: Orlando, Sanford, Punta Gorda, St. Pete-Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale and Sarasota. Note that Orlando and Sanford are different airports roughly 40 minutes apart, and Allegiant is adding service to both.

What This Tells You About Allegiant

The Cincinnati to Orlando route is the one that matters structurally. It is the only year-round addition in the set, which means Allegiant sees enough non-seasonal demand on it to keep aircraft there through the summer and fall. Everything else is capacity chasing a six-to-ten week demand spike.

That is Allegiant's model working as designed. The airline flies point-to-point between smaller origin cities and leisure destinations, often on routes nobody else serves nonstop, and it flexes capacity hard around peak periods rather than maintaining year-round frequency.

Portsmouth is the clearest example. It is a small New Hampshire airport with limited commercial service, and a nonstop to Fort Lauderdale exists there only because spring break demand justifies it for about ten weeks.

What It Means If You Fly These Routes

The nonstop is the value, not the fare. From Providence to Sarasota, the alternative is a connection through a hub that adds several hours door to door. That is worth more to most travelers than the headline price.

Book early for the hyper-seasonal ones. Seven of these nine routes have a hard end date in April or May 2027. Limited operating windows mean limited inventory, and spring break dates concentrate demand into specific weeks. The $49 fares are introductory and will not be there in February.

Price the total, not the fare. Allegiant is an ultra-low-cost carrier. Carry-on bags, checked bags, seat assignments and printed boarding passes are unbundled and charged separately. A $49 fare with two bags and assigned seats is not a $49 trip. Compare against a legacy carrier's all-in price rather than against its base fare, which is the mistake that makes ultra-low-cost carriers look cheaper than they are. Understand the schedule risk. Point-to-point carriers with limited frequency have limited recovery options. If Allegiant cancels a twice-weekly route, the next flight may be days away rather than hours, and there is no partner airline to rebook you onto. That risk is real on any thin route, and it is the reason trip delay and interruption coverage matters more here than on a hub carrier. Points and Miles Angle

There mostly is not one, and that is worth saying plainly rather than manufacturing a connection.

Allegiant runs its own Allways Rewards program, and it is not a transfer partner of Chase, Amex, Capital One or Citi. Flexible points cannot be moved into it. The practical way to use points on these routes is a card that reimburses travel purchases at a fixed rate, or a portal booking, rather than an award redemption.

For a $49 to $150 fare, most travelers will do better paying cash and earning on the purchase than spending points at a fixed one-cent redemption.
