What an Alaska cruise costs depends on the line you pick and the month you sail. On October 7, 2026, the cheapest of the sailings we priced on the lines' own sites was $599 per person for an interior stateroom on Crown Princess, sailing Princess's 7-Day Voyage of the Glaciers from Whittier to Vancouver on May 15, 2027. At the other end, the cheapest cabin still open on Lindblad's July 2, 2027 Greg Mortimer departure was $11,660 per person.
Between those two sits nearly every kind of Alaska trip. Below are the fares eight cruise lines showed on their own sites that day, each with the ship, the sailing date and the cabin, plus what the fare leaves out and how points can pay part of it. Fares change, so treat every number here as a dated snapshot and check the line's page before you plan around it.
What the Big Ships Charge
All five of these lines quote fares per person, based on two people sharing a cabin, with taxes and fees included.
Princess
On Crown Princess's 7-Day Voyage of the Glaciers with Glacier Bay (Southbound), Whittier to Vancouver, sailing May 15, 2027, Princess showed an interior stateroom at $599, with $1,160 struck through. The same sailing listed an oceanview at $970, a balcony at $1,724, a mini-suite at $2,259 and a suite at $4,449. Those are Princess Standard fares, cruise only. Princess also sells a Princess Plus fare that it says includes its Princess Plus Beverage Package, Wi-Fi and crew appreciation.
Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity Solstice's 7 Night Alaska Northbound Glacier, Vancouver to Seward, sailing May 7, 2027, started at $666 for an inside stateroom. Ocean view was $788, veranda $903, Concierge Class $1,116, AquaClass $1,418 and The Retreat $3,947. Celebrity's page says optional gratuities aren't included.
Royal Caribbean
Serenade of the Seas' 7 Night Alaska Inside Passage Cruise, round trip from Vancouver, sailing September 12, 2027, showed an interior at $697, an ocean view at $777, a balcony at $1,149 and a suite at $2,034. Royal Caribbean also notes that optional gratuities aren't included.
Holland America Line
Nieuw Amsterdam's 7-Day Glacier Discovery Northbound, Vancouver to Whittier, May 16 to 23, 2027, showed an inside stateroom from $819, with $904 struck through.
Carnival Cruise Line
Carnival Legend's 7-Day Alaska Inside Passage and Glacier cruise, round trip from Seattle with stops at Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Victoria and a pass through Tracy Arm Fjord, was the cheapest of Carnival's Alaska results. For the April 27 to May 4, 2027 sailing, Carnival listed an interior at $714, an ocean view at $944, a balcony at $1,144 and a suite at $2,385.
What Small Ships and Luxury Lines Charge
The price jumps here, and so does what's built into it.
Viking
Viking's Alaska and the Inside Passage is an 11-day sailing between Vancouver and Seward. For the July 9 to 19, 2027 departure on Viking Venus, the lowest category, a Veranda (V2), was $6,999 per person, with Viking's page showing only two left. Viking listed air from $799 per person from select gateways.
Lindblad Expeditions
Lindblad's Alaska's Inside Passage and Hubbard Glacier runs eight days from Vancouver to Sitka on the 154-guest Greg Mortimer. For the July 2 to 9, 2027 departure, a Category 01 porthole cabin was $8,750 per person but sold out. The cheapest category still open was a Category 05 balcony cabin at $11,660. Lindblad's booking page lists beer, wine, Wi-Fi, kayaks and Zodiac outings as included, and says flights to and from the ship are not.
UnCruise Adventures
UnCruise's Wild, Woolly and Wow with Glacier Bay is seven nights round trip from Juneau on the Wilderness Legacy. A Navigator Cabin for two started at $5,300 per person on the April 24, 2027 sailing, an Adult Escape departure, and $8,500 per person on the June, July and August dates. UnCruise says port fees and taxes are included and gratuities aren't.
Why the Same Cruise Costs More in July
On the big ships, the month moves the price more than the ship does. Princess's date list for the same Crown Princess itinerary makes the point:
- May 15, 2027: interior $599, balcony $1,724.
- July 10, 2027: interior $999, with the balcony and mini-suite categories sold out.
- September 4, 2027: interior $799, balcony $2,224.
Carnival Legend shows the same pattern. Its interior was $714 on April 27, 2027 and $1,156 on July 13, 2027, and its balcony was $1,144 and $1,766 on those two dates. UnCruise's rate table runs the same way: $5,300 in late April and $8,500 in summer for the same cabin.
Princess's own Alaska guide says May and September tend to have fewer crowds and lower fares. Our guide to the best time to cruise Alaska walks through what you trade for that discount, month by month.
What the Fare Leaves Out
The fares above are the cruise. Plan for these too:
- Gratuities. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and UnCruise all say gratuities aren't in the fares we quoted.
- Flights. Princess calls its fares cruise only, Lindblad says flights aren't included, and Viking prices air separately.
- One-way logistics. The Princess, Celebrity and Holland America sailings above start or end in Whittier or Seward, so you'll fly into one city and home from another.
- Drinks and Wi-Fi. Princess puts its beverage package, Wi-Fi and crew appreciation in its Princess Plus fare, and the Princess fares above are Princess Standard.

How Points Can Cover Part of the Fare
Three routes work for a cruise fare.
Capital One Miles
Capital One's guide to redeeming Venture miles lists cruise lines among the purchases "generally considered to be travel purchases," with eligibility set by the merchant category code. You book directly with the cruise line on your Capital One card, then redeem miles to cover the cost within 90 days of purchase. Our take on whether the Venture X is worth it covers the rest of the card.
Amex Platinum Cruise Privileges
The Platinum Card's Cruise Privileges Program adds an onboard credit of $100 to $300 per stateroom plus one amenity, on sailings of at least five nights booked through AmexTravel.com or the number on the back of the card, with double occupancy. Amex Travel's pages for Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Viking and Lindblad all show the program, along with 2X Membership Rewards points on cruise bookings made through Amex Travel. Payments made directly to the cruise line don't earn the extra point. Our Amex Platinum review covers whether the card earns its fee beyond one trip.
Chase Travel
Chase says you can search cruises in Chase Travel and complete the booking by calling a Chase cruise specialist. Sapphire Reserve cardmembers earn 8x points on Chase Travel purchases, and Chase lists cruises among them. Compare the Chase price with the line's own site before you book.
Which Fare to Book
If the price matters most, look at late April, May and September on the big ships, when all five big-ship fares in the first section sail. If you want a balcony in July, book early, since Crown Princess had already sold out of balconies for July 10, 2027. If you want kayaks and skiffs on the itinerary, budget for Lindblad or UnCruise and use the Capital One route on the fare, or Amex where the line takes part.
