Universal Epic Universe: What to Expect

Universal Epic Universe opened on May 22, 2025, and turned Universal Orlando Resort into a four-park destination. Universal called it the first major theme park to open in Orlando in 25 years. You enter its five worlds through portals: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Ministry of Magic), SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon (Isle of Berk) and Dark Universe.

This guide covers what's in each world today, how Epic Universe fits into Universal's tickets, and which hotels sit next to the park. Everything here comes from Universal's own pages as of October 3, 2026. Attractions, shows and hours change, so check Universal's site before you go.

How the Park Is Laid Out

Celestial Park sits in the middle, and Universal calls it a world between worlds. It's a green hub of walkways, gardens and fountains, with portals leading out to the other four worlds. It's also the first world you'll reach when you enter the park.

What's in Each World

Celestial Park

Stardust Racers, a dual-launch racing coaster, is Celestial Park's thrill ride. Constellation Carousel is the kid-friendly ride, where you ride celestial lions, dragons and bears. Celestial Goodnight, a fireworks and music show, closes the day nightly, though Universal says dates and times can change.

For a sit-down meal, Celestial Park has Atlantic, which serves seafood and steak, and The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant. Universal Helios Grand Hotel is part of this world too.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Ministry of Magic)

This world starts in wizarding Paris in the 1920s, then takes you by Métro-Floo to the British Ministry of Magic in the 1990s. The ride here is Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, a motion-simulation ride on a magical lift where you help Harry, Ron and Hermione stop Dolores Umbridge. It won a 2025 Golden Ticket Award for Best New Attraction Installation and the 2026 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement: Ride Experiences.

Le Cirque Arcanus is a live show that mixes performers, puppetry and special effects with fantastic beasts. Interactive wands let you cast spells around the streets of Paris, and Café L'air De La Sirène serves French-inspired food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD

Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge has you throwing shells and collecting digital coins to beat Team Bowser. Mine-Cart Madness is a family coaster through Donkey Kong Country, where you help Donkey Kong protect the Golden Banana. Yoshi's Adventure is a family-friendly ride, a search for glowing eggs through Mushroom Kingdom scenery.

A Power-Up Band adds a game layer: you win keys in interactive activities, collect digital coins and stamps, and track your score. You can also meet Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad, and eat at Toadstool Cafe.

How to Train Your Dragon (Isle of Berk)

Hiccup's Wing Gliders is the coaster in this Viking village. Dragon Racer's Rally lets you practice aerobatic maneuvers on a dragon-riding trainer, and Fyre Drill is a boat battle where teams soak each other. Universal lists Fyre Drill as closed from January 25 to February 4, 2027.

The Untrainable Dragon is a live show with Hiccup, Gobber and Astrid, and Viking Training Camp is a play area for kids. You can meet Hiccup and Toothless at the Haddock Paddock. Isle of Berk won the 2026 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement: Theme Park Land.

Dark Universe

In Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein puts you in the middle of a monster revolt. Curse of the Werewolf sends you spinning and speeding through the woods where werewolves live. In Darkmoor Village you can meet Frankenstein's Monster and his Bride, Ygor and The Invisible Man.

The Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience is a bookable experience with a choice of temporary tattoo or face makeup, for ages 5 and up. Das Stakehaus is one of its quick-service restaurants, where you eat surrounded by vampire artwork and artifacts.

Tickets and Hours

Universal says a Park-to-Park ticket gives you the flexibility of visiting Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. Universal also sells 3-, 4- and 5-Day Park-to-Park tickets that let you visit all four parks, including Universal Volcano Bay, every day of your stay. Universal Volcano Bay is scheduled to close for maintenance from October 26, 2026, with a planned reopening on or before April 1, 2027. As of October 3, 2026, Universal's tickets page lists Epic Universe tickets from $139.99 plus tax, and prices vary by day.

Universal Express Pass works at Epic Universe, though not at select attractions. Park hours change by date, so check Universal's park hours calendar for your days. The calendar also shows Early Park Admission times for Epic Universe, a perk for guests of Universal's hotels.

Hotels Next to the Park

Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel, has its own dedicated entrance into Epic Universe. Park admission is separate and isn't included with the room. The hotel has a rooftop bar, and Club Level rooms add a private lounge, continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres.

Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort are both adjacent to the park. From Stella Nova you can reach Epic Universe by a walking path or a free shuttle, and Terra Luna guests use the free shuttles. Guests at all three get Early Park Admission up to one hour before opening at select attractions, with valid park admission.

Planning Your Visit

Start with the ticket. If you only want Epic Universe, price its ticket for your date. If you'll visit the other parks too, compare the Park-to-Park options. Then pick a hotel by how you want to reach the park: Helios Grand puts you at a dedicated entrance, Stella Nova has a walking path, and Terra Luna relies on the shuttle. Last, check the park hours calendar, which lists opening times and Early Park Admission date by date.
