The Tokyo Marriott Hotel sits within walking distance of Shinagawa Station, and Marriott's own page puts it just steps from Gotenyama Garden. Whether it's worth booking with points comes down to three things the hotel's pages can't settle for you: the points price on your dates, what your award can cover, and whether you'll use the Executive Lounge.

Here's what Marriott says about the hotel as of October 26, 2026, what its points pages say about pricing, and a short test you can run before you spend anything. We're not quoting a nightly points price, because it depends on the dates you enter in Marriott's search.

Where It Sits

Marriott's what-to-expect page says the hotel is "within walking distance of the bustling Shinagawa Station" and just steps from Gotenyama Garden. It puts Haneda Airport 11.0 km away and says both Haneda and Narita can be reached by train. The address is 4-7-36 Kitashinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.

Rooms and the Executive Lounge

Marriott's rooms page describes family rooms, suites and premium suites. Family rooms come with a mini-fridge and plush bedding, and suite rooms sit on higher floors with views of the skyline and bay.

Premium suites grant access to an Executive Lounge with beverage service and meeting space. The page also lists marble-accented bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi and an in-room ergonomic desk.

Marriott's what-to-expect page says the Executive Lounge serves drinks and snacks from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm, with a hot buffet from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and alcohol served between 5:00 and 8:00 pm. If lounge access is part of why you're considering this hotel, confirm that the room type you book includes it.

Food, Gym and the Small Print

Lounge & Dining G is the hotel's main restaurant, open daily from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm according to Marriott's dining page. Breakfast there is a buffet for a fee. Pastry & Bakery GGCo. runs from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and the what-to-expect page lists in-room dining from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. The gym is for guests 15 and older and open 24 hours a day.

A few details affect the value of an award night. Marriott says high-speed Wi-Fi is free for Bonvoy members, with enhanced speed free for Gold Elite and above. Its list of Bonvoy benefits at this hotel includes breakfast in Lounge & Dining G, lounge access, a welcome gift and late check-out, and Marriott says available benefits vary by location and membership tier.

The same page asks guests to bring their own bath items and toiletries, and says hairbrushes and shower caps are sold rather than handed out. Parking costs ¥1,000 an hour or ¥2,000 a day.

What Marriott Says About Points Prices

Marriott's redeem page lists hotel stays "starting at 12,000 points / night." That's a floor, not a price for this hotel. The Tokyo Marriott Hotel's own nightly price comes from searching your dates with Use Points / Awards selected, so treat any number quoted before that as a guess.

Free Night Awards have caps that depend on the card. Marriott's award page lists caps of 35,000 points for the awards tied to the Bonvoy Business and Bonvoy American Express cards, 50,000 for the Bevy, and 85,000 for the Brilliant. It says an award can be combined with up to 25,000 points but not with cash, covers a standard room for one night, and is subject to availability. Our Brilliant free night guide covers the 85,000-point award in detail.

A Four-Step Check Before You Book

  1. Search the hotel on Marriott.com for your dates with Use Points / Awards selected and note the nightly points price.
  2. Search the same dates at the cash rate.
  3. Compare the points price with your award's cap if you're holding a free night award.
  4. Confirm the room type includes what you want, such as the Executive Lounge.

The Decision

If the points price on your dates is at or under your free night award's cap, and a stay near Shinagawa Station suits your plans, the award is a clean fit. If it's above the cap by 25,000 points or less, decide whether topping up with your own points is worth it against the cash rate you saw. If you're paying with points from your balance, run the search again with Marriott's Flexible Dates option to see the best points deals around your trip.
