Southwest's three personal Rapid Rewards credit cards carry welcome offers of up to 90,000 points through Southwest's own site. As of October 27, 2026, Southwest's card page lists 80,000 points on the Plus, 85,000 on the Premier and 90,000 on the Priority. The Priority offer is labeled limited-time and ends December 2, 2026.
On Chase's own card pages, read the same day, the offers were 50,000 points on the Plus, 55,000 on the Premier and 60,000 on the Priority, with lower spending requirements on the Premier ($1,500) and Priority ($2,000).
The Three Offers
- Rapid Rewards Plus ($99 annual fee): 80,000 points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.
- Rapid Rewards Premier ($149 annual fee): 85,000 points after you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months.
- Rapid Rewards Priority ($229 annual fee): 90,000 points after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months. Southwest's banner calls this a limited-time offer that ends 12/2/26.
Southwest's page says the annual fee is applied to your first billing statement on each card. Terms apply, and the page links to the full offer details for each card. Chase's terms rule you out if you have a Southwest Rapid Rewards card now or got a new Cardmember bonus on one in the last 24 months.
Our reviews cover what you get after the bonus: the Plus, the Premier and the Priority.
How to Take Advantage
- Pick the card whose fee and spending requirement you'd be comfortable with.
- Plan the spending you'd do anyway across the first 3 months, so you don't spend to chase the bonus.
- Apply through Southwest's card page, since Chase says offers may vary depending on where you apply, and check the offer details shown on the application before you submit.
What Else Each Card Earns
Each card also earns more on Southwest purchases (2X on the Plus, 3X on the Premier and 4X on the Priority) and pays anniversary points every year: 3,000 on the Plus, 6,000 on the Premier and 7,500 on the Priority, according to Southwest's page.
The page also says a new Rapid Rewards program starts January 1, 2027, with a faster path to tier status for cardmembers. Southwest's 2027 help page says welcome bonuses stop counting toward the Companion Pass from 2027, and its 2026 status page says cardmembers approved on or before December 2, 2026 who meet the welcome bonus requirements can have those points count as Companion Pass qualifying points.
Who Should Apply
Apply if you fly Southwest a few times a year and would use the first checked bag benefit, which Southwest says covers the cardmember and up to 8 additional passengers on the same reservation. Skip it if you rarely fly Southwest, since the fee shows up on your first statement. The Priority offer and Southwest's Companion Pass approval cutoff both fall on December 2, so apply before then.
