American has a targeted status match that starts some members one tier higher than usual. Match from Delta Platinum, Diamond or Delta 360 and you start at AAdvantage Executive Platinum with four Flagship Lounge passes. If you're a Citi / AAdvantage primary cardmember, 50,000 Loyalty Points in the four-month challenge keeps Executive Platinum through March 31, 2028. Requests are due by 11:59 p.m. Central on October 23, 2026.

Who Gets the Offer

American's terms call it an exclusive offer for the intended recipient, based on your company's relationship with American Airlines.

You need fully earned status on Delta SkyMiles, United MileagePlus, Southwest Rapid Rewards or JetBlue TrueBlue. Matched, transferred, lifetime or promotional status doesn't count, and the names on both accounts must match.

What the Match Pays

American's chart, shown here for Delta, lifts each match one tier above its standard match, up to Executive Platinum:

  • Silver Medallion: AAdvantage Platinum.
  • Gold Medallion: AAdvantage Platinum Pro.
  • Platinum, Diamond or Delta 360: AAdvantage Executive Platinum plus four Flagship Lounge Single Visit Passes.

The matched status lasts four months. The passes arrive within 30 days of approval and stay valid for 182 days from deposit. They don't admit guests or cover Flagship First Dining, depend on capacity, and need a same-day boarding pass on a flight marketed or operated by American, or marketed and operated by a oneworld airline.

Keeping Executive Platinum at 50,000 Points

The Loyalty Points you earn during the four months set the status you keep through March 31, 2028. The first result below is standard, and the second is for Citi / AAdvantage primary cardmembers:

  • 10,000 points: Gold, or Platinum.
  • 25,000 points: Platinum, or Platinum Pro.
  • 50,000 points: Platinum Pro, or Executive Platinum.
  • 100,000 points: Executive Platinum either way.

A primary cardmember who doesn't complete the challenge still gets Gold through March 31, 2027. Points earned before American approves your registration don't count.

How to Apply

  1. Check Promotions in your AAdvantage account, or use American's corporate status match page.
  2. Submit your company name, company email and proof of your other-airline status by October 23, then verify the email American sends.
  3. The sign-up page says two to four weeks, and the terms say at least four.

American can deny a request for any reason, may share your submission with your company's travel manager, and bars you from other Instant Status Pass offers for two years after you register.

If You Want the Citi Bump

American's terms say the primary-cardmember bump applies when your Citi / AAdvantage membership begins before the last day of your challenge period. Citi's AAdvantage cards include the Globe, the Executive, the Platinum Select and the Business. Our guide to AAdvantage Loyalty Points covers what counts toward the 50,000.

Who Should Skip It

If the offer isn't in your account and you have no company tie to American, there's nothing to claim. If you match into Executive Platinum and can't earn 50,000 points in four months, you still get four months of top-tier status and four lounge passes. The deadline is October 23.
