The Transportation Security Administration just launched a limited-time discount that makes TSA PreCheck more affordable for younger travelers. From May 1-31, 2026, anyone 30 or under can knock $20 off their first five-year membership.
The Numbers
The standard TSA PreCheck fee is $79.95, which drops to around $56.75-$65 after the discount depending on which enrollment provider you choose. That's roughly $12 per year for expedited security screening.
The promotion works through all three authorized enrollment providers: CLEAR, IDEMIA, and Telos. You'll need to show a government-issued ID at enrollment to verify your age. Unfortunately, renewals don't qualify.

If you're traveling with kids, remember that children 17 and under can use TSA PreCheck lanes when traveling with an enrolled parent at no additional cost.
Better Options if You're Over 30
If you don't qualify for this age discount, several travel credit cards reimburse the TSA PreCheck or Global Entry application fee every 4-5 years. Popular options include the Chase Sapphire Reserve, American Express Platinum Card, and Capital One Venture X. Since Global Entry costs $120 but includes TSA PreCheck benefits, cards with Global Entry credits deliver better long-term value.
