Marriott just launched a targeted promotion that adds 10,000 bonus points per stay when you book premium rooms or suites at participating properties in the US and Canada. While this isn't the most generous Bonvoy promotion we've seen, it's worth grabbing if you already have summer travel plans.
The Deal Breakdown
Book a premium room or suite at select Marriott properties by June 1, 2026, and you'll earn 10,000 bonus points on top of your regular earning for stays between May 22 and September 7, 2026. You'll need to use promotion code S2449 when booking to trigger the bonus.
The bonus applies to one premium room or suite per stay, per member. That means if you're booking multiple nights at the same property, you'll get the 10,000 points once for that stay, not per night.
How to Maximize This Promotion
Here's what most people miss: stack this with your cobranded Marriott credit card earn. If you're using the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card (6x points per dollar at Marriott properties) or the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card (6x points per dollar), you're layering this 10,000-point bonus on top of substantial base earning.
For example, a $300/night premium room booking for two nights would earn you approximately 3,600 base points plus 10,000 bonus points, totaling 13,600 points from a single stay. That's enough for a Category 4 off-peak free night according to Marriott's redemption chart.
Pro tip: Look for the "special rate available" tag on room photos when browsing properties. Not all rooms at participating properties qualify—only premium rooms and suites trigger the bonus.
Important Restrictions
This promotion doesn't work for award bookings, only paid stays. You also can't combine it with group bookings (10+ rooms) or certain special event dates that have blackout periods. The terms don't specify which properties or dates are blacked out, so you'll need to check when booking.
If you elect to earn airline miles instead of Bonvoy points for your stay, you won't get this bonus. Stick with points earning to qualify.
Is It Worth It?
At The Points Party, we value Marriott Bonvoy points at roughly 0.7 cents each, making this bonus worth about $70. That's not earth-shattering, but it's essentially free money if you're already booking a premium Marriott stay this summer.
Don't let this promotion convince you to upgrade from a standard room to a suite just for the bonus. The price difference almost never justifies a 10,000-point bonus. But if you were already planning to book that ocean-view suite for your anniversary trip or treating yourself to a club-level room for the lounge access, grab the extra points while they're available.
The promotion runs through early September, covering peak summer travel and Labor Day weekend. Book by June 1 to lock in qualifying rates. If you don't already have a Marriott cobranded card, this could be a good time to apply and maximize your earning on these stays.
