Getaways by Southwest, the name now used for Southwest Vacations, bundles a Southwest flight with a hotel, a rental car or both. You find its deals by searching a destination, travel dates and number of travelers, and qualifying package purchases can earn Rapid Rewards points.
What Getaways by Southwest Sells
Southwest's own page lists the package types it offers:
- Flight plus hotel.
- Flight plus car rental, or a car added to an existing package.
- Flight plus hotel plus car.
- All-inclusive packages at select resort destinations.
Destinations on the page include Caribbean and Mexico resorts (Cancun among them), Hawaii, Las Vegas, Florida cities such as Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, and mountain and ski areas.
How to Find the Deals
Start on the Getaways by Southwest deals page. Deals there are subject to availability and can carry specific travel date windows, so a package that looks cheap may only apply to certain weeks.
Search by destination, dates and number of travelers, then filter by destination, departure city and travel style. Selecting a deal opens the booking flow, where you can customize the package before you pay.
Do Packages Earn Rapid Rewards Points?
Southwest says qualifying vacation package purchases through Getaways by Southwest can earn Rapid Rewards points, and you can use them on future Southwest flights. Check the package details at checkout to see whether yours qualifies. For how the points and the Companion Pass work, read our Southwest Rapid Rewards guide.
Before You Book
Compare the package price with what the same flight and hotel cost when booked separately, using the same dates. A bundle wins when the hotel rate inside it is lower than the public rate. It loses when only the flight is discounted and the hotel is pricey.
Confirm the cancellation and change terms for the whole package on southwest.com before paying.
