What Google Flights Shows for Southwest
Search the way you would for any airline. Southwest appears in the same results list, so you don't need a separate trip to its website just to find out whether it's the cheapest option.
The usual Google Flights tools work on the whole list. Use the calendar and date views to see which days and weeks cost less, and filter by number of stops and departure times. If Southwest doesn't show up for a route you expect it to serve, search Southwest.com directly.
Track a Southwest Price
Once you've picked a trip, switch on price tracking. Google Flights can email you when the price of that itinerary changes, which saves you from checking back every day. It's most useful when you're still flexible on timing and want to book on a dip.

Southwest's Four Fare Bundles
Southwest sells four fare bundles. Southwest's booking page lists them this way:
- Basic: a standard seat assigned at check-in, last boarding, and checked bags at $45 for the first and $55 for the second each way. It's non-refundable.
- Choice: a standard seat chosen at booking and boarding groups 6 to 8.
- Choice Preferred: a preferred seat near the front chosen at booking, boarding groups 3 to 5, and a fully refundable fare.
- Choice Extra: an extra-legroom seat chosen at booking, boarding groups 1 to 2, two free checked bags, and a fully refundable fare.
Every fare includes a free carry-on bag and personal item, and Southwest charges no change fees on any of them, though a fare difference may apply. Before you pay, check which bundle the price you're looking at belongs to, because seat, boarding and bags differ a lot between Basic and the rest.
Where You Can Book Southwest
Google Flights is for comparing. You book on Southwest.com, or on a travel site that sells Southwest directly. Priceline began selling Southwest flights on August 6, 2025, across Booking Holdings brands including Booking.com and Agoda, and said Rapid Rewards points still earn on those bookings.
