Qatar Airways Privilege Club just rolled out its first-ever monthly Avios discount, cutting up to 25% off select business and economy award flights. If you've got Avios sitting around, this is the kind of promo worth checking every month, even though this round skips the US entirely.
The deal: Book by August 14, 2026 for travel through September 30, 2026. Discounted business class awards from Doha connect to Berlin, Cairo, Colombo, Jakarta, Riyadh, and Warsaw. Discounted economy awards cover Doha to Amman, Geneva, Larnaca, Munich, and Riyadh. Both one-way and round-trip bookings qualify, so there's no need to commit to a full round-trip just to unlock the lower price.
Real numbers: An off-peak business class award from Doha to Cairo normally runs 26,000 Avios each way. With the 25% discount, you'll pay 19,500 Avios, a savings of 6,500 Avios on a single segment. That's real money back in your pocket if Cairo, Berlin, or Warsaw happen to fit your travel plans.
Why This Matters Even Without US Routes
No US cities made the first list, but don't write this off if you're routing through Doha anyway. If you're already flying from the States to connect onward to Cairo, Berlin, Warsaw, Colombo, or Jakarta, you could stack this discount onto a trip you were planning regardless.
This also isn't a one-off. Qatar Airways says it'll refresh the discounted route list monthly, following the same playbook as Flying Blue's Promo Rewards and Miles & More's Mileage Bargains. Worth bookmarking and checking each month.
How to Book It
You have to book directly through the Qatar Airways website or app while logged into your Qatar Privilege Club account. These discounted fares won't show up if you search the same flight through British Airways Executive Club, and only flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways qualify. Partner awards and Flexi Awards are excluded.
Here's the real hack: through September 27, 2026, Amex Membership Rewards points transfer to British Airways, Iberia Plus, and Aer Lingus AerClub at a 30% bonus, meaning 1,000 Membership Rewards points becomes 1,300 Avios instead of 1,000. Since Avios move freely between British Airways and Qatar accounts, you can transfer Amex points to BA, shift them to Qatar, and book the discounted award for even less out of pocket. On that Doha-Cairo business class example, you'd only need 15,000 Membership Rewards points transferred to cover the 19,500 Avios required.
If you're earning toward a redemption like this, the British Airways Visa Signature Card earns 3 Avios per dollar on British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia purchases, plus 1 Avios per dollar everywhere else, giving you a direct path to stockpiling Avios for deals exactly like this one.
