Introduction
American Express ended its 125,000-mile Delta SkyMiles welcome offers on April 1, 2026. The promotion ran across the Gold, Platinum, and Reserve cards. As of October 4, 2026, Amex's card pages show new limited-time offers on all three cards, each ending November 4, 2026.
What Happened
From January through March 2026, American Express ran a coordinated increased-bonus promotion across all three personal Delta SkyMiles cards. The Reserve carried the headline figure: 100,000 bonus miles after $6,000 in spending in the first six months, plus an additional 25,000 miles after another $3,000 in the same window, for a tiered total of 125,000 miles. The Platinum card offered 125,000 miles after $6,000 in six months. The Gold card capped at 90,000 miles after $3,000.
Amex pulled the offers on April 1, 2026. Here's what Amex's card pages show as of October 4, 2026. Each is labeled a limited-time offer ending November 4, 2026:
- Delta SkyMiles Reserve: two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates plus 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $10,000 in purchases on the new card in the first 6 months. The annual fee is $650. Our Delta Reserve offer breakdown covers the certificate rules.
- Delta SkyMiles Platinum: as high as 90,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 in purchases in the first 6 months, plus a $300 statement credit once you meet the same spend. Amex says you may not be eligible for the maximum offer. The annual fee is $350.
- Delta SkyMiles Gold: as high as 80,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 in purchases in the first 6 months, plus a $250 statement credit once you meet the same spend. Amex says you may not be eligible for the maximum offer. The annual fee is $0 for the first year, then $150.
Why This Matters
For SkyMiles collectors who watched the 125,000-mile promotion and didn't apply, the Reserve's offer now pays in flight certificates plus miles. Its value depends on what Delta Comfort tickets cost on the routes you fly.
All three current offers end November 4, 2026, so the decision has a deadline.
What You Should Do
If Delta is your primary carrier and you can meet the spending requirements naturally, the current Reserve and Platinum offers are worth weighing before November 4, 2026. The Reserve in particular still carries 15 Delta Sky Club visits each Medallion Year when flying Delta and a Companion Certificate each year after renewal.
If you're new to the Delta portfolio and weighing the Gold card, its offer needs $3,000 in purchases in 6 months, the lowest spend of the three. The Gold's $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $150, makes it the lowest-risk entry point for new Delta cardholders.
If you'd rather not commit to a Delta card yet, transferable-points strategies through Amex Membership Rewards remain a useful hedge for readers who want to keep building toward Delta redemptions.
