Citi ThankYou Rewards just rolled out a 20% transfer bonus to Air France-KLM Flying Blue, running from July 19 through 11:59 p.m. Eastern on August 22, 2026. If you're sitting on ThankYou points and eyeing a Flying Blue redemption, this is worth a look before it disappears.
The deal
- Transfer ThankYou points to Flying Blue and get 20% more miles, automatically, no enrollment required.
- Citi Strata Elite, Citi Strata Premier, and AT&T Access More cardholders get the boosted rate: 1,000 ThankYou points becomes 1,200 Flying Blue miles.
- The bonus applies to transfers made between July 19 and August 22, 2026.
Is it worth transferring
Flying Blue business class between the US and Europe typically starts around 60,000 miles each way, and promo rewards periodically bring that down to as low as 45,000 miles in business or 18,750 in economy. With the 20% bonus factored in, that's roughly 37,500 ThankYou points each way in business class, or as few as 15,625 in economy, before taxes and fees, which usually run $300 to $400 each way on business class awards.
A few other things make Flying Blue worth having in your toolkit. Kids between 2 and 11 get a 25% discount on long-haul award tickets in any cabin, which can meaningfully soften the surcharges on a family business class booking. Flying Blue also covers Delta's domestic network, including some short flights bookable for as few as 5,000 miles, though Delta now blocks partner award access within 21 days of departure, so plan ahead if you want to use miles that way.
Our advice
Don't transfer speculatively. Move points only once you've confirmed award space that works for your dates, since Flying Blue's dynamic pricing means rates shift and availability isn't always wide open at the lowest levels. If you don't currently hold one of the three qualifying cards, the Citi Strata Premier is the most accessible route to this transfer relationship and the rest of Citi's airline and hotel partners.
