If you've been sitting on a pile of Bilt points waiting for the right transfer bonus, May 1 is your window. Bilt Rent Day for May 2026 brings a tiered Avios transfer bonus of 40% to 100% to British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus — and given how far Avios can stretch across partner airlines, this is one of the more actionable promotions we've seen this year.

The promotion runs from 12:00AM ET through 11:59PM PT on May 1, giving you roughly 27 hours to act.

How the Bonus Breaks Down by Status

Your bonus is tied directly to your Bilt elite status:

  • Bilt Blue: 40% bonus (100,000 Bilt points → 140,000 Avios)
  • Bilt Silver: 50% bonus (100,000 Bilt points → 150,000 Avios)
  • Bilt Gold: 60% bonus (100,000 Bilt points → 160,000 Avios)
  • Bilt Platinum: 75% bonus (100,000 Bilt points → 175,000 Avios)
  • Bilt Platinum + $150 Bilt Cash: 100% bonus (100,000 Bilt points → 200,000 Avios)

One important new wrinkle this month: you can only transfer a maximum of 100,000 base Bilt points under this promotion and qualify for the bonus, regardless of how you split them across the three programs. This cap is new. If you've been stockpiling points expecting to move a large balance, plan accordingly.

Is Spending $150 Bilt Cash to Upgrade Your Bonus Worth It?

For Platinum members, spending $150 in Bilt Cash pushes your bonus from 75% to 100%, which means an extra 25,000 Avios on the maximum 100,000-point transfer. If you value Avios at a conservative 1.5 cents each, that's roughly $375 in added value for $150 spent — a return worth taking seriously.

For Gold members using Bilt Cash to jump to Platinum (60% to 75%), the same $150 generates an additional 15,000 Avios, worth around $225 at that same valuation. Still a solid trade.

The math gets less compelling the lower your starting tier, so Blue and Silver members should weigh this carefully before spending the cash upgrade.

Where to Send Your Avios

The flexibility of Avios is what makes this bonus genuinely exciting. You can move Avios freely between British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Qatar Airways after transfer, so the program you choose first doesn't lock you into a single redemption path.

Some of the strongest targets right now:

  • Qatar Qsuites business class via Qatar Avios — one of the best business class products in the sky, often priced around 70,000–75,000 Avios one-way on long-haul routes
  • Short-haul partner redemptions via British Airways — transatlantic economy awards can start as low as 13,000 Avios each way when availability aligns
  • Iberia business class from the US East Coast — one-way awards to Madrid can run as low as 34,000 Avios in business class, which is outstanding value

How to Act Before Midnight

Log into your Bilt account, navigate to the Rewards section, and select your transfer destination: British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, or Aer Lingus AerClub. Decide upfront whether the $150 Bilt Cash upgrade makes sense for your status tier, then complete your transfer before 11:59PM PT tonight.

Don't forget: Bilt Rent Day also doubles your earning rate on all card purchases today, up to 1,000 bonus points. If you have any planned spending, front-load it on May 1 to cap out that bonus.

The 100,000-point cap means this isn't quite as unlimited as past promos, but for most members it doesn't change the math — it just means acting with a bit more intention about what you transfer and where.
